This species is one of my favorites for creating a realistic miniature bamboo forest. These can reach almost 24" if planted in the ground in a tropical environment. As a container cultivated plant they can be trained to stay around 12-16" tall and make for a fantastic bonsai companion, or shitakusa, plant.
